New Paragraph
We read our weekly Torah Portion on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays during our Jewish prayer services. The full Hebrew name of the Torah Portion is Parashat HaShavua, usually abbreviated for Parashah or Sedra.
Our weekly Torah Portion consists of two to six chapters. You can find here our 54 Parashots (Portions). The annual cycle of the Torah reading marks the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah (Rejoicing in the Law), which is marked by Jewish communities around the world.
The name of each weekly Torah Portion is based on the first word in the Hebrew text of the corresponding portion, usually from the first verse.
